September 30 (Monday) Pocahontas State Park  - Spillway to Spillway, Five Loop Hike - Chesterfield (B/3) 
Jeff Samuels (796-7949).  A 10 mile hike mostly on unpaved forest roads. From the Beaver Lake Dam spillway, hike 6 miles through the park's forested NE section. Have lunch on the rocks below the spillway at Swift Creek Lake Dam. The 4 mile return hike will close sections of 5 loops. Hike can be challenging  due to distance and hills, and will take up to six hours. With over 35 trail junctions to cross, all hikers must stay together. Bring lunch and water to last the day. Restrooms will only be available near the beginning of the hike. The park entrance is on Beach Road (Rt. 655) 4 miles west of Rt. 10 (Ironbridge Rd.). Follow signs to the CCC Museum, Heritage, and Nature Center. Park at the CCC Museum. There is a nominal parking fee without a park pass. Call if have questions. Meet at 8:50AM
