2nd attempt for a December hike cancelled due to closing of SNP.
10 miles on the Appalachian Trail, pass Kites Deadening (former farm), down South River Trail through a deep wooded gorge to the 3rd highest waterfall in the Shenandoah National Park. On the return leg, pass the Upper Pocosin Mission and a cemetery. Bring a lunch. Meet at Oilville Park & Ride ( I-64 West) at 8:30 AM.
