5 Feb (Wed) Urban/South Bank Expedition

We will meet at 3201 Semmes Ave. (corner of 32nd and Semmes Ave) at 9:30 AM and combine some urban hiking of Woodland Heights and the south side of Forest Hill Ave. winding up on the south bank of the James River and heading east to the Reedy Creek parking lot and into Forest Hill Park finishing up back on 32nd Street. The hike is a little over 7 miles and should take about 2-1/4 hrs. You might bring one pole for stream crossings.

The construction and maintenance of foot trails for hikers, including the Appalachian Trail between Reids Gap and Rockfish Gap.
The provision of excursions on such trails or other areas.
Offering educational activities related to the need for preserving the great outdoors.
