General Membership Meeting
January 14, 2020: Bring in the New Year with first of five 2020 general meetings in the first floor Discovery Room of the Science Museum of Virginia. President Bert Norfleet officially kicks things off at 7:00 pm but feel free to arrive any time after 6. Light refreshments available and we never say no to home baked treats. Also, be ready to see amazing photos and hear anectodes from the adventures that Theresa Duffey experienced with five fellow ODATC members. Their six day hiking exerience in the Dolomites began with the trek around Sassolungo, the highest mountain of the Langkofel Group in the Dolomites of Italy, as well as Mount Sassopiatto. Her presentation will also include accounts of their hike from Capanna Alpina in the Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park, with the grand finale around the iconic Tre Cime di Lavaredo trail.
The ODATC Mission
The construction and maintenance of foot trails for hikers, including the Appalachian Trail between Reids Gap and Rockfish Gap.
The provision of excursions on such trails or other areas.
Offering educational activities related to the need for preserving the great outdoors.
