Art Ritter (804-980-6623, o2behiking@yahoo.com ) Here we are with no hikes for this weekend. How can that be, so allow me to remedy that tragic situation. This hike will essentially be a loop in this pretty northwest Virginia state park. Distance is in the 7 mile range with about 1,300 feet of elevation gain, including a bit of time on the AT. The lower trails will cross through rolling fields and over brooks, while the upper trails provide spectacular views of the Piedmont. Sky Meadows State Park is located about 115 miles northwest of Richmond. We will carpool, so bring money to reimburse your driver. The carpool fee will be $40 per car split evenly, including the driver’s share, so plan on $10-20 depending on if we have full cars or not. If you have a state park pass, bring it. Contact Art for departure (we will be leaving at 7:30 AM from a staging area north of town) and additional information. Limited to 12 hikers, which will hopefully mean three cars.
