Feb 27 (tues) RESCHEDULEDLake Matoaka Trails Williamsburg (B/4)

Joanne Berdall (jberdall@hotmail.com) or Ellie Tuck (804-370-2603 cell)

Lake Matoaka, just west of the William and Mary campus, is surrounded by 10 miles of forested trails. The W&M website states, “The lake was constructed by English colonists some 25 years after the College was chartered in 1693, making it the oldest man-made lake in Virginia and one of the oldest in the New World.” Join Joanne, Ellie, and Jeff Samuels as we hike 10 miles of these wooded trails. (Hiking shoes suggested.)

We will begin at 9:00 am and finish by 1:00 pm for lunch on your own in the Williamsburg area. Bring water and a snack. Restrooms are available at the beginning and mid points. Williamsburg offers many historic and shopping opportunities, so you may want to arrange to carpool with friends to extend your day after the hike. This hike requires a sign-up. Please contact Ellie or Joanne for instructions.
