Walnut Creek Park Walk and Wine

 Join us for a 5-10 mile hike (rated C3) along the trails in Walnut Creek Park near Charlottesville.  We'll hike along the lake as well as take side trails to several old homesteads.  The hike is mostly flat with one 250 ft climb and several gullies.  Trail is wet and muddy so bring hiking poles and an extra pair of shoes.  For those not wanting to do all 10 miles, there is a lovely picnic pavilion overlooking the lake approximately half way into the hike. We'll leave from the Rockville/Manakin Park and Ride at 8:00 a.m. No stopping en route so have coffee, lunch, water, etc. with you when we meet.  After the hike, anyone wanting to do an optional wine tasting can do so at one of the two near by vineyards.  Contact Jenni (264-1633) or Mark (400-3108) ASAP to sign up.  Hike is limited to 5 more.  Online registration is not available for this hike.
