May 31 (Wednesday) Rockwood Park – Chesterfield (C-4)
Susan Macpherson (iannsue@comcast.net) or Joanne Berdall (jberdall@hotmail.com) Rockwood Park 3401 Courthouse Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23236. Rockwood Park is Chesterfield County’s oldest park. Located near the intersection of Courthouse Road and Hull Street Road, this park has an extensive system of both hard and soft surface nature trails. We will hike approximately 5 miles of these trails. Restrooms and picnic table are available for anyone wishing to bring a picnic lunch following the hike. Numerous restaurants are also within half a mile of this park.
We will meet in the parking lot across from the park office. (This parking lot is near the tennis court restrooms but is not the smaller tennis court parking lot). Meet at 9:50 AM.
The ODATC Mission
The construction and maintenance of foot trails for hikers, including the Appalachian Trail between Reids Gap and Rockfish Gap.
The provision of excursions on such trails or other areas.
Offering educational activities related to the need for preserving the great outdoors.
