On Saturday April 29th I am leading a hike from the Montebello Fish Hatchery in Nelson County to Spy Rock where we would enjoy 360 degree views of the Blue Ridge mountains. Then from Spy Rock we follow the AT to head waters of Crabtree Falls. Before going down Crabtree Falls we would stop at the overlook of the Tye River Valley and then continue down the falls to the parking lot. Crabtree Falls is probably Virginia’s best-known waterfall hike. This hike would be about 9 miles. I am planning to Carpool from Rockville park and ride leaving at 8:00 AM.
