April 18 (Saturday) Work trip

On Saturday April 18th, in addition to the regularly scheduled monthly work trip, we are having an invasive species removal project. ATC staff from Roanoke will lead an effort between the Humpback Rock parking lot and Glass Hollow overlook to remove invasive species. The primary focus of the is trip will be removal Garlic Mustard.

This is a great opportunity to get out on the trail and make a big difference. It is also a chance to learn more about, and identify, invasive species. To learn more, be sure to come to teh General Meeting where Josh Kloehn, Field Technician from ATC, will be talking about invasive species and can provide more information on Saturdays effort. The project will include walking the trail, pulling out the plants and carrying them back to a truck at the parking lot. Wear substantial shoes or boots, dress for the weather and bring gloves. As this is an all day event, pack a lunch and be sure to hydrate.

Please RSVP to Mark at 804-928-8757.
