David Olli (dolli@smv.org or 864-1461) One of my favorite long-loop hikes includes 13-miles of vigorous elevation change, couple of stream crossings, some slippery boulder spots but a grand view at a lunch stop rock outcrop, victorious feeling you’ve conquered the mountain, and a post-hike stop at Carter Mountain Orchard just down the road from the Route 56 Tye River trail head stocked with various types of fresh picked apples. Not for the beginner or “I think I’m in hiking shape” so check with Dave before signing on. Group size limited to 12, no young children or pets, please.
